Roberts 370 Gallery – From building the strongback to the finish yacht
If you have followed the building of this yacht from the laying down of the strongback to the finished vessel I am sure you will all agree that Rodney has done a truly magnificent job
Page 5: Above and below decks fitout
This photo of Rodney's side deck area shows some good features. There is a solid toe rail running
along the entire sheer along with a nicely sized rub rail to protect the topsides
Note the grab rails that are strategically positioned on the pilot house and forward cabin roofs. These
are very handy in a seaway.
This photo shows how light and spacious this vessel will be below with it's use of three well spaced
hatches down the centreline of the boat as well as the coach and hull port lights.
The cockpit area with the swim platform and gas bottle recesses. Note also the cutaway in the
cockpit side seats for the wheel.
The beginning of fitting out. Looking from the lower level across the pilot house and into the aft cabin
Looking forward into the lower forward area from the pilot house.
Staggered bunks in the forward cabin.
Looking again down from the pilot house showing the galley to the port and head to starboard and
looking further into the forward cabin.
Looking from the forward cabin door aft and showing just what a great effect that curves have in the
below deck fit out. Although more work than square corners a more wondrous effect can be created.
